First of all, I would like to use the
opportunity to thank you for tuning in on my website.
My name is, as you might already know “Kim Jessen”. I’m a Danish
citizen, and a country musician too. I’ve been playing the guitar for forty year's, and my favourite music hasn’t always been country music. I’ve been playing rock’n’roll music for almost twenty
years, and the disco music I had to play, if I was to earn just to pay my expenses to all my instruments. But I was brought up listening to country
music because my mother had a lot
of country records. I was even listening to Pete Seeger’s music “We Shall Overcome”, “Oh Freedom” and “Little Boxes”
were some of my
favourites.
I met with a country band in 1989, and at that time they named them self “The Country Gang”, but I thought it sounded a little corny, so we changed it to “Winchesters”. We got a couple of awards in Texas and Germany, but now all this is history.
I have now formed my own band, and have got the best start that a band could have ever wished for. We've been participating in this year's "Best Of Texas" in Beaumont Texas US. We've got the award for the "Best European Country-band Of The Year 2001". We've even got two awards from ICMAG in Germany. Thanks to everyone out there, for believing in us. I'll be back soon with the latest! Best always Kim Jessen. Thanks to Jens Balslev. |
